Allgeier saw 12 of 37 team carries on a night the Atlanta defense completely locked down the injury-riddled Raiders for over three quarters, leading to the opportunity for additional rushing volume. Allgeier remains a shaky week-to-week fantasy bet playing behind one of the most dynamic pure rushers in the game, likely needing an injury to Bijan Robinson to return usable fantasy scores.
The 22 carries were Robinson's second most of the year after he posted a new season high of 26 in Week 13. The mission, even against an elite run defense like Minnesota, is to hide Kirk Cousins, and Robinson will continue to be the beneficiary. That still didn't stop him from getting vultured for a six-yard score by Tyler Allgeier in the first quarter, but Allgeier handled the ball a modest nine times. Allgeier still mixes in for too many critical snaps, but Robinson is simply swamping him in the touches department. He'll be a top 5-6 RB1 for Week 15 against the Raiders.
With the Falcons increasingly trying to hide Kirk Cousins, Allgeier's nine carries were his most in three weeks. His 63 yards on the ground were his most in seven games. Week 15 opponent Las Vegas has a solid run defense, but so does Minnesota. It's clear the Falcons are going to run as much as possible until either Cousins' arm falls off or he gets benched. That could happen this week. Regardless, with bye weeks over, No. 2 back Allgeier will never project for enough work to garner genuine FLEX status.
