Allgeier's 12 rushing attempts was one short of Bijan Robinson's 13 carries on the day. He continues to see significant snaps in the red zone but has ceded all passing game work to Robinson, who had six targets against the Bucs. Allgeier is little more than a bench stash who would be a top-12 running back option if Robinson were to miss time this season.
It's Robinson's fourth touchdown over his past three games as the Falcons' lead back. His involvement in the team's passing offense makes Robinson immune to funky game script, even if he sometimes loses green zone snaps and carries to big back Tyler Allgeier. Robinson now has at least three receptions in five straight outings. In a run-first Falcons offense, Robinson shapes up as an elite play for Week 9 against the Cowboys.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson looks like he is finally hitting his stride ending with 21 carries against the Seahawks for 103 yards and a TD. He also caught 3-of-5 targets for 40 yards. He had 24 touches while Tyler Allgeier only had six.
It was a letdown for Allgeier after he racked up 105 yards and a touchdown last week against Carolina. The Falcons played from behind for much of Week 7's game, keeping Allgeier off the field in favor of Bijan Robinson, who had 21 rushes for 103 yards and two total touchdowns against the Seahawks. Allgeier is an ideal bench stash who will sometimes have fantasy value when the Falcons have game script on their side.
Robinson had his second straight big game, out-rushing Tyler Allgeier 21 to five and seeing most of the red zone work. Robinson was elusive and explosive against a Seahawks defense that has struggled mightily against the run for much of the season. With ample pass game involvement, Robinson is as immune to game script as any running back in the NFL. He'll have a favorable matchup in Week 8 against the Bucs.
