Chargers TE Hayden Hurst (hip) is active for tonight's game vs. the Broncos. He's not a fantasy option, but his return makes TE Stone Smartt a slightly riskier fantasy play.
Chargers TE Will Dissly (shoulder) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. He remained sidelined in practice all week, so consider him iffy for Week 17. TE Hayden Hurst (hip) is listed as questionable after being designated to return from IR earlier this week. He's not a Week 16 fantasy option, but his return would make TE Stone Smartt a riskier fantasy play. We'll get the Chargers' inactives a little before 7 pm ET tomorrow.
Dissly was not seen on the practice field Tuesday as he continues to nurse a shoulder injury. Two straight DNP listings to start the week indicate he is unlikely to play in the Chargers' Week 16 Thursday game against the Broncos. Stone Smartt will start again if Dissly does indeed miss the game.
Smartt played very well against the Buccaneers, efficiently earning targets and picking yardage. He was used as both a short-field weapon and as a field-stretcher, earning one such target 20-plus yards downfield. Fantasy managers can again use Smartt as a TE1 streamer against the Broncos on Thursday night, as he continues auditioning for the 2025 starting role.
Palmer was an afterthought with Ladd McConkey back in the lineup. Both Quentin Johnston and Stone Smartt out-played Palmer as well. The 25-year-old WR cannot be trusted with the Chargers' offense in its current former. He is a WR6/7 against the Broncos in Week 16.
