Hyatt stepped into a starting role with Darius Slayton sidelined because of a concussion. The second-year wideout acquitted himself well, moving the chain on multiple plays while catching every ball thrown his way. He also drew a long pass interference call earlier in the game. Slayton should be back following New York's Week 11 bye, sending Hyatt back to the bench for the time being. Hyatt is worth holding onto in dynasty leagues as the Giants move into evaluation mode, though redraft managers can do better off the waiver wire this week.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (concussion) is out for Sunday s game vs. the Panthers. He figures to be replaced by WR Jalin Hyatt, who s only a flier in DFS tournaments. Hyatt has drawn a target on just 8% of his routes this season. (Slayton is at 15% for comparison.)
Things began trending in this direction on Wednesday after Slayton was a DNP, and Daboll said the veteran receiver hadn't made much progress through the league's concussion protocol. Slayton is expected to stay stateside when the team travels to Germany before the weekend, which means Jalin Hyatt will be seeing an uptick in snaps for Week 10.
Per head coach Brian Daboll, Slayton has not made as much progress through the league's concussion protocols as Tyrone Tracy had at this point last week. Tracy managed to clear the protocols and suit up on Sunday. It sounds like Slayton is at a high risk of missing Week 10 versus the Panthers. Jalin Hyatt will take his spot in the lineup if can't suit up, though fantasy managers shouldn't be eager to add the wind sprinter. Hyatt has one catch for six yards this year.
