Smith-Njigba brought in 10 of 11 targets for 110 yards while taking his lone carry for eight yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers.
Metcalf showed no ill effects in his return from a Week 7 MCL sprain, making physical plays along the boundary against the 49ers' secondary. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's ascension could hurt Metcalf's scoring ceiling at times but the Seahawks now have two wide receivers that can force defenses to roll coverage and attention their way. Metcalf should erupt for a WR1 showing soon enough. He is a WR1/2 against the Cardinals in Week 12.
Lockett earned two of his three targets on the Seahawks' opening drive and was essentially a non-factor after that. Lockett is extremely difficult to trust as a flex option, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba not only seizing the No. 2 role but making a strong case for the team's No. 1 wide receiver spot. Deploying Lockett in re-draft will require fantasy managers to either study matchups closely or simply take the good with the bad. He is a WR5 with decent scoring potential against the Cardinals in Week 12.
Smith-Njigba regularly contributed clutch plays all game long, showing spatial awareness and fancy footwork along the sideline more than once. He dominated the fourth quarter though, catching 5-of-5 targets for 45 yards. The Seahawks confusingly distributed the ball early in the game, with Tyler Lockett and AJ Barner combining for three of the team's five first-quarter targets. Smith-Njigba consistently commands Geno Smith's attention in crunch time though, which should yield more early-game involvement in the coming weeks. Smith-Njigba is a WR2 against the Cardinals in Week 12.
Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the Seahawks in receiving against the 49ers catching 10 of 11 targets for 110 yards. Second was D.K. Metcalf who caught seven of nine targets for 70 yards. Both were heavily used in the second half in the Seahawks come back.
