There's nothing worse than a mid-week addition to the injury report, especially for a player with an injury history as extensive as Bateman's. The Ravens play on Saturday meaning their first injury report of the week dropped yesterday. Bateman was not on it. With Diontae Johnson excused from the team this week and Nelson Agholor in concussion protocol, the Ravens may be down to Tylan Wallace and Devontez Walker in three-receiver sets for Week 16's game versus the Steelers.
Agholor has been operating as the Ravens' No. 3 wide receiver for much of the season, catching 14 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. He starts out the week not practicing with a concussion, putting his status for Saturday's game against the Steelers in jeopardy. If Agholor does miss Week 16, Tylan Wallace and Devontez Walker will see increased snaps.
Walker's first NFL reception was a touchdown on a beautifully thrown ball from Lamar Jackson in the Ravens' blowout victory. Walker's touchdown came on one of his two pass routes on the day. The 113th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of North Carolina, Walker remains a long way away from fantasy relevance.
Mitchell didn't play a snap on offense last week. He hasn't seen a touch since coming off the PUP list in Week 10 and is now a healthy scratch.
