Roman Wilson

Skowronek should fill a depth role on offense while contributing to special teams and is not in the fantasy discussion for Week 1 barring injury. The elevation likely has a lot to do with rookie Roman Wilson's absence for Sunday for a team lacking in depth at the wide receiver position.

Wilson was limited all week in practice, and the Steelers won't have their 2024 third-round pick available for the opener against Atlanta. The former Michigan star could make an impact for the Steelers in the later weeks, but he appears to be well behind the eight ball to begin the 2024 campaign.

Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin figure to operate as Pittsburgh s No. 2 and 3 WRs in the opener, but neither is a viable fantasy play.

What little shot the third-round rookie had at making an immediate fantasy impact probably went out the door when he went down in the opening days of training camp. It's possible he's something of a "healthy scratch" this weekend in that he's on the injury report, but probably would have played had he not already missed so much time.

The development gives Wilson a chance to suit up on Sunday but he is unlikely to contribute in fantasy lineups. Wilson's July ankle injury kept him sidelined throughout August and that lack of experience is a problem for a third-round rookie.
