Carr had his second straight efficient outing after throwing for 269 yards and two scores last week against Atlanta. He averaged 9.2 yards per attempt in Week 11 following his 10.8 YPA mark in Week 10. Carr targeted Taysom Hill relentlessly in the first half and connected with Marques Valdes Scantling for a 71-yard catch-and-run touchdown. He also hit TE Juwan Johnson for a short score. Carr, who hasn't thrown an interception since Week 5, has become a reliable superflex option and a decent streaming play in one-QB leagues. He'll be a top-15 play in Week 12 against a vulnerable Rams defense.
It was Johnson's second touchdown of the season and his first score since Week 1 against Carolina. Johnson split tight end duties with Taysom Hill -- who had eight catches on ten targets against Cleveland -- and Foster Moreau, running a route on about half of Derek Carr's drop backs. Johnson would be a viable fantasy option if Hill were to miss time.
Derek Carr finds Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a 71-yard touchdown to extend the New Orleans Saints' lead over the Cleveland Browns.
Six New Orleans players -- all with questions about age, injuries or production -- are currently scheduled to represent about 40% of the 2025 cap liabilities.
He pointed at the tonal shift that Brian Daboll had in yesterday's press conference, and speculated that Daniel Jones' $23 million injury guarantee could force the Giants to bench Jones. "Just as we saw ... Russell Wilson and Jimmy Garoppolo be benched last year, and Derek Carr the year before ... to not risk those players getting hurt, I think we're looking at the same thing with Daniel Jones right now." Giants GM Joe Schoen held a presser today in which he said a decision on Jones would be "based on football only," but it's hard to take that at face value. Drew Lock would be the starting quarterback for the Giants if Jones were to be put on ice, and we might see even uglier football ahead for the Giants after their bye if that's the case.
