Jackson was anything but his MVP-caliber self in this one. He completed just 48.5 percent of his passes in the defeat while looking rattled in the pocket for most of the evening. Jackson was errant on several throws but also fell victim to bad penalties, including an illegal man downfield that cost him 34-yard completion to Nelson Agholor. Jackson would rally the offense late, and completing a 16-yard touchdown pass to Zay Flowers to cut the lead to 18-16, but a botched two-point conversion all but sealed the Ravens' fate. Jackson added 46 rushing yards on just four carries in this one, with his biggest gain coming on a 25-yard run. Now firmly in second place in the AFC North, Jackson and the Ravens will look to bounce back in Week 12 as the Ravens renew the Harbowl against the Chargers on Monday night.
Johnson has appeared in two games for the Ravens since being acquired by them before the trade deadline. Johnson has played on just 22 offensive snaps with the Ravens and has run nine routes. He was targeted twice in Week 10's win over the Bengals, but the Ravens can't continue to play him behind guys like Nelson Agholor and Tylan Wallace. We'd expect Johnson to see a bit more action in Week 11 when the Ravens take on the Steelers, but he'll be hard to trust in fantasy until we see some consistency in his usage.
It was a poor time for one of Flowers' occasional statistical faceplants, as the Ravens predictably went nuts against the Bengals' nonexistent defense. Cincinnati just managed to contain Zay as Lamar Jackson worked his connection with players like Nelson Agholor and Tylan Wallace. Annoying, but just life with Flowers, who has been prone to high highs and low lows this season. He is probably going to be needed for far more chain-moving type grabs in Week 11 when the Ravens travel to Pittsburgh. Keep him fired up as a high-end WR2.
Johnson is now "up to" ... one catch for six yards through two games as a Raven. That does not include falling down on a target. Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke charted Johnson as playing only five total snaps. This must be some difficult system to break into. We would like to say better days are ahead in this explosive passing attack, but it feels like wishcasting when you have Lamar Jackson hitting role players Tylan Wallace and Nelson Agholor for scores this evening. Johnson will be hard pressed to crack the top 48 in Week 11 against the Steelers.
Jackson has eight touchdown passes outside the pocket this season, most in the NFL.
