Now that the Chargers season has ended with a playoff loss, attention must be turned to fix the interior offensive line, and receiver and pass rush depth.
The team could save $25.36 million by cutting Bosa this offseason, per OverTheCap, but there does not appear to be an immediate need for doing so. The Chargers have more than $73 million in 2025 cap space, the fourth-most in the NFL. Accounting for the expected incoming rookie class, OverTheCap likewise projects the Chargers to have the sixth-most cap space available, at $55.656 million. The 29-year-old pass rusher has missed significant time due to injury in each of the last three seasons, which could lead the Chargers to ask Bosa to take a pay cut. An outright release appears unlikely though.
Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa and Derwin James Jr. have yet to win together in the postseason.
