Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt managed just 59 yards and one score on 21 carries in a win over Las Vegas. He's now posted declining yards-per-carry averages in three straight games.
Hunt (hip) rushed 21 times for 58 yards and a touchdown while catching his lone target for four yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over Las Vegas.
Hunt's per-carry efficiency has ticked downward in every game this year, beginning at 4.9 yards per carry in Week 4 and coming to a rest at 2.8 here. He has cleared 20 carries in each of the last three weeks though and remains RB2-viable in the Chiefs' high-value backfield. Start him accordingly against the Buccaneers in Week 9.
Steele remains a mid-tier bench stash given Kareem Hunt's rushing inefficiency but Steels offers no real standalone value. He is a capable tackle-breaker but is a fullback at heart. He should not be started against the Buccaneers in Week 9.
Hopkins begins his Chiefs tenure against a 2-5 Raiders team that should facilitate a usable fantasy stat line, even on limited snaps. As expected, Kareem Hunt (hip) is active and JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is inactive. The Chiefs also declared RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, OL C.J. Hanson, OT Ethan Driskell, DT Marlon Tuipulotu and DE Mike Danna inactive.
