Favorite New XM Channel

I'll admit that I listen to XM Radio for 2 reasons. There used to be 3 reasons, but now that there are more and more commercials, I can't always count "commercial-free" radio as one of the reasons. First, I enjoy listening to CNN and FOX News. It's always interesting to get the real story and then drop over to FOX to get the right's version of it. The 2nd reason I enjoy XM Radio is that I can listen to stations like XM 20 on 20 so that I can do my best to try and keep up with what's current. Now, I have a new reason to listen to XM Radio: SIRIUS|XM Fantasy Sports Radio is the only 24/7 radio channel dedicated to all-things fantasy sports.

I checked in about two weeks ago and I'm hooked. It's available on XM channel 147 and on SIRIUS channel 211 for subscribers who purchase the "Best of XM" package. The channel features some serious heavyweights like Jaguars Pro-Bowler and 1st round fantasy pick Maurice Jones-Drew, former Major League Baseball general manager Steve Phillips, nine-time NHL All-Star Jeremy Roenick, golf analyst Alex Miceli, NBA veteran Dennis Scott, plus experts from well-known fantasy brands like RotoExperts.com, RotoWire.com, FanBall.com and FantasyPros911.com.

Much of the content on the shows is fantasy-baseball related at the moment, but there's still plenty of football to go around with callers calling their questions in. Just listening to them talk about fantasy football gets me jazzed for the season.

If you haven't checked it out yet, I encourage you to make it one of your favorites. It should be right there next to CNN, FOX News, and XM 20 on 20!

Ha! I was wondering if someone would catch that.

That station was the reason I was willing to upgrade my subscription. Still working out some kinks, but a lot easier than downloading podcasts to a USB drive daily.

I have xm but didn't know about this. That is really cool.

respectfully...Fox is way to the right and I can't listen to them anymore. Once Palin got involved, I lost all respect for Fox News.

My fault. I shouldn't have made any political comment. It doesn't really matter whether you listen to FOX or CNN or CNBC or whatever station. The point is that it's worth listening to the new Fantasy Channel. Very cool indeed.

I think it sends a strong message that the fantasy football industry is maturing when it gets a dedicated channel on satellite radio. The industry has seen rapid maturation over just the past few years with up to an estimated 20 million people participating across the country. It's become common place in the workplace as well as with families and friends. It has helped garner a whole new audience for the NFL and I think it's great to see people getting more involved with the game of football.
