After six days of battling pneumonia, I was able to stay awake long enough to see the first few series of last night's game. Brees looked pretty sharp marching down the field. Pretty disappointing to see his final numbers this morning however. I fell asleep before the 1st quarter was over and assumed that I would be missing a shoot-out. Neither side put up the kind of numbers that everyone was expecting though.
If I'm reading these stats correctly, Brees had a respectable 101.3 passer rating with 237 yards and 1 TD. Looks like he also had 4 rushing attempts for -6 yards. By standard scoring rules, that comes out to roughly 13.88 points, which is less than any expert predicted. A full point below the lowest projection. Ouch.
Favre didn't impress much either including not having a single completion in the 3rd quarter. A 71.7 passer rating with 171 yards, a TD, and a pick. By standard scoring rules, that's roughly 8.84 points which is almost 4 points below his lowest projection. Peterson also underperformed, but it looks like Visanthe Shiancoe outperformed his projections from last night along with Devery Henderson of the Saints.
I'm hoping to be back to normal by Sunday as I'd sure like to actually watch some of these games. In the meantime, there won't be a Where to Put'em feature for Week 1, but I'll have one ready to go for Week 2.

Pierre Thomas did better than expected, but not sure if we can count on those kinds of numbers in the future. Too man variables with their offense.

Almost forgot about Garrett Hartley. What was up with that?!?!?! Ugh.
