Week 11 Where to Put em

Where to Put 'em is the Fantasy Football Nerd's look at the best and worst fantasy football match ups for Week 11. Decisions are based upon the FantasyFootballNerd.com rankings and match up analysis. Given the known conditions, these match ups are the ones to watch and/or avoid.

Put 'em In The Game: Carson Palmer
Carson Palmer is back and looking great. With his top two receivers, Palmer faces a Buffalo defense that allows the 9th most fantasy points to opposing QB's. We anticipate seeing T.O. in the endzone against his former team and Palmer tossing it to him. Palmer was limited in practice yesterday however he's fully expected to start this weekend.
Put 'em In The Game: Shaun Hill
Shaun Hill and the Lions take on a seemingly rejuvenated Cowboys. Dallas is still susceptible against the pass and Hill makes for a great play this week. Against the Bills last week, Hill threw for 323 yards and a score. Dallas allows the 2nd most TDs through the air (2.22/game).
Put 'em In The Game: Felix Jones
For much of the season Felix Jones has been on the FantasyFootballNerd.com Sit List. That changes this week. Jones looked fantastic against the Giants last week. His production didn't come from rushing (51 yards on 14 attempts - 3.6 yds/carry) but rather from his 3 receptions for 85 yards and a score. Nobody gives up more fantasy points to RB's than the Detroit Lions. The Lions also give up the 2nd most TD's to opposing RB's and are 28th in the league at stopping the run. Jones should have a great day.
Put 'em In The Game: Peyton Hillis
This is the last week you'll see Peyton Hillis on the Start 'em list. Hillis will now be considered a Stud and therefore it is assumed that you will always start him regardless of the match up. This comes on the heels of a 109 total yards and a score performance against a very tough Jets defense. Jacksonville is going to have a difficult time stopping this young man.
Put 'em In The Game: Fred Jackson
With C.J. Spiller out, Fred Jackson is the man in Buffalo. He tore up the Lions last week turning in a 170 all-purpose yard and 2 score performance. While he won't put up the same numbers against Cincinnati, the Bengals are a very middle-of-the-road team against the run.
Put 'em In The Game: Dez Bryant
Finally - here's the Dez Bryant that we drafted. After a very slow start, Bryant has been hot the last four games. He has a great rapport with his QB and has been able to finally find the end zone. The Lions' pass defense is pretty decent, but then again so were the Giants, Jaguars, and Packers and Bryant did well. There's no reason to sit Bryant now.
Put 'em In The Game: Santonio Holmes
Similar to Bryant above, Holmes started the season slow (after his 4 game suspension), but has been turning it on as of late. Sanchez and Holmes are finally clicking. Combine the fact that Jerricho Cotchery is hurt and the fact that the Houston secondary gives up the 2nd most points to fantasy WR's and you've got plenty of reasons to plug Holmes into your lineup.
Put 'em In The Game: Marcedes Lewis
Mike Holmgren has turned the Cleveland Browns into a legitimate team, but that doesn't mean that the Browns aren't one of the more-forgiving defenses against opposing tight ends currently ranking 8th in the league in yards allowed. Lewis has had a bit of an up and down season but his match up looks very favorable this week.
Put 'em In The Game: Dustin Keller
On paper Keller has one of the best match ups this week and that should translate well into fantasy production on Sunday. While he hasn't reached his Weeks 2 or 3 highs, he faces a Texans' defense that gives up more yards and points to opposing TE's than any other team in the NFL. Houston also gives up the 2nd most TD's to opposing TE's which makes Keller a great play this week.
Put 'em On The Bench: Matt Schaub
Schaub has shown flashes of brilliance this year but has also had his fair share of disappointing performances. He had a great game last week against Jacksonville throwing for 314 yards and 2 scores, but he'll have a hard time repeating that against the Jets. Complicating matters is the fact that he's spent two days in the hospital this week undergoing treatment for bursitis in his right knee. While he's expected to play, he's a risk to put up solid numbers this week.
Put 'em On The Bench: Brett Favre
Other than Weeks 5 and 9, Favre has not been the fantasy gunslinger that he was last year. This should be the last time Favre faces his former team so there's an emotional element to the game which historically often factors into Favre's performances. Unfortunately, even that won't be enough to warrant a start recommendation from us. The last game he played against Green Bay, he threw for 212 yards, 1 score, and 3 picks. There's always a chance that he'll turn in a big day, but the odds are not in his favor.
Put 'em On The Bench: Marshawn Lynch
We were all hoping that a change in scenery would get Lynch on the path to fantasy relevance, but we haven't really seen that materialize in Seattle. Even though he saw the endzone, it was only the 2nd time this year. He averaged a pathetic 2.2 yards/carry last week and is losing carries to Forsett. In deeper leagues, he may be worth a play but can be dropped in most others.
Put 'em On The Bench: Brandon Jackson
It will be pretty difficult for Jackson to repeat his numbers against Minnesota this week. He tallied 104 all-purpose yards and a score in Week 7 at Lambeau but won't see those numbers in Minnesota. The Vikings give up the 9th-fewest yards and the 9th-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs.
Put 'em On The Bench: Andre Johnson
Hold on just a minute. We're not recommending that you sit one of the games most talented receivers. We're just recommending that you temper your expectations. Johnson could very well have a difficult day against the Jets where he has a front row seat on Revis Island. The last time he faced the Jets was last year and Revis held him to just 35 yards and no scores. Schaub will play but he's hurt and that doesn't inspire much confidence.
Put 'em On The Bench: Mike Williams
Williams has been a nice find this year, particularly last week when he snagged 11 catches for 145 yards against the Cardinals. The Seahawks face the Saints this week who have the toughest pass defense in the NFL. Nobody gives up fewer yards or fantasy points to opposing WR's than New Orleans. This is a match up that we'd stay away from.
Put 'em On The Bench: Deion Branch
Indy has a pretty decent middle-of-the-road pass defense that is capable of shutting down receivers. Tom Brady has been passing the ball around to Patriot receivers and Branch hasn't seen the end zone since his return to New England. If you're looking for a safer play, look elsewhere.
Put 'em On The Bench: Rob Gronkowski
We're not ready to jump on the Rob Gronkowski bandwagon just yet. He had a monster game last week grabbing 3 scores but it was only the 2nd time all year that Gronkowski has seen double digit fantasy points. He also faces a Colts defense that is very tough on opposing TE's. We might be higher on him if he didn't have to share time with Aaron Hernandez, but that's just not the case.
Put 'em On The Bench: Brent Celek
Call it the Vick-effect, but Celek has lost that fantasy loving feeling. With Vick in the lineup, the dynamics change dramatically. McCoy's value goes down as well as Celek's. With Vick under center, Celek is averaging 2 catches, 21 yards, and no scores per game. Those aren't the kinds of numbers that one wants to see coming this close to the start of the fantasy post-season.
Put 'em On The Bench: Olindo Mare
Mare is owned in only 6% of FleaFlicker leagues even though he tacked on 18 points for those few fantasy owners last week. It was the 2nd such time this year that he has seen double digits. The Saints allow the 3rd fewest fantasy points to kickers and are a tough team to score on so don't expect many extra points.
